# How do you create value from nothing?

Several examples of mechanisms come to mind:

- Marketplaces: matching supply and demand creates value but doesn’t destroy value somewhere else.
- Execution quality: executing with excellence, whether you’re a customer service agent or a CEO, creates value far and above executing only okay because it’s an example of…
- Efficiency: getting more done with less (time, money, raw material inputs), which often comes from
- Thoughtfulness (i.e. thorough thinking): making changes in your mind is always cheaper than making changes at any other stage of the creation process
